Interbike Activities Recap The 2010 Interbike tradeshow was a busy one for OIWC, with a ton of activities taking place during the 3-day show. Thanks to volunteers, members and supporters the show was a great success. Here is a quick summary of the events:
Women's Product Showcase: a 20' x 40' booth on the show floor provided show attendees with the opportunity to browse new women's product, grab a chair for a meeting, and visit with OIWC staff, board members and volunteers. It was also the location of the Gathering and Awards Presentation.
Gathering and Awards Presentation: held at the Women's Product Showcase, the highlight of this happy hour was the presentation of the Pioneering Women Award to Ellen Johnson of Pacific Cycles and the First Ascent Award to Tara Moeller of Specialized Bicycles.
Selling to WomenPanel Presentation: OIWC and Interbike joined forces to present a powerful seminar aimed at helping bike shops understand what women want—and how to sell to them. Diane Lees of Hubbub Custom Cycles moderated the panel discussion, which featured Elayne Fowler, Marketing Manager of Electra Bikes; Leigh Carter, Senior Account Executive of Quality Bicycle Products; Jeff Selzer of Palo Alto Bicycles; and Pam Kruse, Co-Owner of Village Bike & Fitness, as panelists.
Executive Roundtable: 16 women attended from a variety of bike companies. Liz Roberts, CEO of Terry Precision, moderated a discussion on leadership.
OIWC Member Dinner: a small group of OIWC members got together from a relaxing no-host dinner at Dal Toro in the Palazzo Hotel: Volunteers who attended receive special recognition for their contributions to OIWC.
Volunteers: Thank you to volunteers who came specifically to help us at the show--especially Sarah Glatfelder, Sylvia Dizon, and Paula McConnell-- and all the members who stopped by, said hello or helped out before the show.
Sponsors: Thank you to Specialized, QBP, Fuji, Giant and Interbike for your support.
