Professional Development Topics

The Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition is a membership community of professionals in the outdoor industries united to provide power, influence, and opportunity for women in outdoor-related businesses and to generate champions to inspire other women.  To help support this mission, the Professional Development Committee focuses on developing tools and training to equip, educate and support members as they pursue their professional goals.
For 2010, the professional development topics will be based upon the theme 'Advancing your Career'.  The focus for these topics has been developed on member feedback.  Review the professional development library of topics for additional information.
Advancing your Career
Whether you are entry level, mid-level or at the executive level of your career cycle,we are sure you are always thinking about "Advancing your Career.” But what skills do you think you need to get to the next level? OIWC will be providing content, panel presentations, webinars, discussion topics, OIWC articles, and online resources throughout the year to help members develop the skills they need to advance to the next level in their careers.
To help launch the theme OIWC hosted a regional event panel presentation on the topic in Burlington, VT on March 25.  Read the insights taken from the panel on key skills they attribute to helping them in their careers. You can also read the March OIWC/SNEWS article on 'Advancing your Career'.
