Throughout
April, hundreds of OIWC members gathered for Education Series and
Network Nights events held in six different regions, all focused on
learning Effective Management skills using the StrengthsFinders tools.
Members walked away knowing their strengths and how to apply this
knowledge to management of themselves and their team.
Even
those who were skeptical of the StrengthsFinders exercise walked away
with a renewed outlook. One member in the Salt Lake City region
reported, "Two of my coworkers who attended the event (a manager and an
employee) did not take the StrengthsFinders assessment. They didn't feel
that it would be worth the money. After the event, however, the manager
made it a mandate for both of them to take the assessment. Now, they
are planning on using the information in annual reviews, for merit
increases, and more."
